Synchronized swimmer Vlada Chigireva said that she would go to the Olympics under a neutral flag
Two-time Olympic champion in synchronized swimming Vlada Chigireva assessed her readiness to go to the 2024 Olympics in Paris under a neutral flag. This is reported by Metaratings.
According to the athlete, she is ready to go to competitions both under the Russian flag and under a neutral one. “Now I am confused by the conditions that are set for participation. Our sport has already been excluded, because only athletes of individual programs can compete, and in our country even a duet is not an individual event,” added Chigireva.
In September, the head of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR), Elena Vyalbe, said that without a flag and anthem, Russians should not participate in the Olympic Games. “And my position will not change,” she emphasized.
Chigireva became the Olympic champion in the group at the 2016 and 2020 Games. She is also an 11-time world champion.
