Yuri Zhirkov said that in Europe there is no great demand for Russian football players

Former Russian national team player Yuri Zhirkov appreciated the departure of domestic football players to Europe. His words are quoted by TASS.

Zhirkov said that there is no great demand for Russian football players in Europe. “If players come up with 100% offers, then we can try. But in such a way that all the players would just pick up and leave. Many are not needed there in principle,” he noted.

On November 21, a similar opinion was expressed by Euro 2008 bronze medalist in the Russian national team Diniyar Bilyaletdinov. He encouraged athletes to develop a career in Russia and earn a reputation for the country.

At the moment, several Russian football players are playing in European championships. Among the most famous are Alexander Golovin, representing Monaco, Alexey Miranchuk, playing for the Italian Atalanta, Daler Kuzyaev for the French Le Havre, Arsen Zakharyan for the Spanish Real Sociedad. Alexander Kokorin from the Italian Fiorentina is on loan at the Cypriot Aris.
