The head of the RFU Dyukov said that Karpin gave no reason to doubt his work

President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Alexander Dyukov appreciated the work of head coach Valery Karpin in the Russian national team. His words are quoted by Sport24.

Dyukov said that Karpin gave no reason to doubt his work, and he has a contract. The head of the RFU considered that in 2023 the Russian national team did a great job, noting that a large number of players made their debut for the team, and the backbone of the team was formed.

On September 26, Karpin answered a question about his future in the team. He emphasized that he knew nothing about his own possible resignation from office.

Karpin will lead the Russian national team in the summer of 2021. He replaced Stanislav Cherchesov, who left the national team amid the team’s failure at Euro 2020. The agreement with the specialist runs until the end of 2023.
