Figure skater Sinitsyna said that she performed with a broken leg in September 2023
Russian figure skater Ksenia Sinitsyna spoke about performing with a broken leg in September 2023. Her words are quoted by Sport24.
The athlete stated that she broke the metatarsal bone of her foot during training during test skates, but doctors did not immediately notice this and diagnosed her with a bruise. “How did I even skate? This could have greatly harmed my health and my leg. The fracture could have healed incorrectly, but everything worked out,” she noted.
On November 19, Sinitsyna became the winner of the fifth stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Samara. She scored a total of 216.08 points.
19-year-old Sinitsina is a gold and silver medalist at the 2020 Youth Olympic Games. At the last Russian Championship she took eighth place.
On March 1, 2022, the International Skating Union banned Russians and Belarusians from participating in competitions under its auspices. Due to sanctions, skaters were unable to take part in the World and European Championships, as well as in other international tournaments. In this regard, it was decided to hold the Russian Grand Prix.
