Karpin – about the song “Valera”: it is wrong to focus attention on one person
The head coach of the Russian national football team, Valery Karpin, appreciated the crushing victory over the Cuban national team with a score of 8:0 in a friendly match. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
Karpin spoke about the song “Valera”, which was performed after the national team’s victory over Cuba. “I think it’s unnecessary to single out someone. There are Valera, Petit, Vasya, who else is there? It’s not entirely correct to focus on one person,” he said.
The coach was pleased with the victory over his opponent. He emphasized that of all the matches in 2023, he would highlight the match against the Cameroon national team.
Earlier on November 20, the Russian team defeated the Cuban national team in a friendly match. The meeting took place in Volgograd at the Volgograd Arena stadium and ended with a score of 8:0.
The Russian national team has not competed in international tournaments since February 2022 due to sanctions from the International Football Federation and the Union of European Football Associations.
