The International Equestrian Federation allowed Russians and Belarusians to participate in tournaments

The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) allowed Russians and Belarusians to participate in tournaments in a neutral status. This decision of the organization’s executive committee was reported on Monday, November 20, on the official website of the Russian Equestrian Federation (RFESR).

“After lengthy negotiations, the FEI Executive Committee decided to review the protective measures in force against Russian and Belarusian athletes, horses and officials. The FEI Executive Committee allowed Russian and Belarusian athletes, officials and horses to take part in competitions in a neutral status,” the FEI statement said.

It is noted that the conditions and timing of the implementation of the decision of the international organization will be approved in December 2023, when a teleconference of the FEI Executive Committee is scheduled.

On November 10, the International Gymnastics Federation revealed the conditions for admitting Russians to international tournaments. Domestic athletes will be able to compete only in a neutral status. At the same time, team members should not have connections with the army or law enforcement agencies of the country, and they should not speak out in support of the Northern Military District.

On March 28, the International Olympic Committee recommended that Belarusians and Russians who did not support the special operation in Ukraine be allowed to compete in neutral status.
