CSKA forward Fedor Chalov won the “Gentleman of the Year” award
Forward of CSKA and the Russian national football team Fedor Chalov won the “Gentleman of the Year” award. The name of the winner was announced by KP.RU.
“First association with the word “gentleman”? Nowadays, this word can, like many things, be distorted and distorted. But for me, the meaning of this word and this award is simple – to be honest with everyone, including yourself,” Chalov commented on receiving the award.
“Gentleman of the Year” was determined by voting in two stages. The shortlist included three candidates chosen by fans. In addition to Chalov, Lokomotiv midfielder Anton Miranchuk and Fakel defender Igor Kalinin were nominated for the award. Then experts joined the voting: 14 out of 16 experts who took part in the survey gave first place to Chalov.
“Komsomolskaya Pravda” has been presenting the “Gentleman of the Year” award to football players playing in the Russian championship since 1994. The main criteria for determining the winner are the candidate’s position in the team, his attitude towards opponents and referees, as well as towards fans and journalists. As a reward, the “Gentleman of the Year” receives a custom-made tuxedo.
