Shtyrkov said that in order to participate in the main battles it is necessary to grow mentally
Russian mixed style (MMA) fighter Ivan Shtyrkov explained his defeat in a fight with compatriot Vladimir Mineev. His words are quoted by “Championship”.
Shtyrkov admitted that he is sometimes pressured by public attention. “This is also part of the job, I understand that. I just want to share a little that this is an unrealistic load that not many people can bear,” he explained. The fighter added that it is necessary to grow professionally and mentally in order to fight in the main and co-main fights.
At the same time, Shtyrkov noted that this fight will be a good foundation for the second fight with Mineev. “Everything is fine, I missed a couple of good shots. The knee was not bad, the hand was not bad, but everything was fine, everything was clear, everything was worked out as it should. I liked the way I breathed, I liked the way I felt,” he added.
On November 18, Mineev defeated Shtyrkov in a fight according to kickboxing rules by unanimous decision. The fight took place as part of the REN TV Fight Club at the RED Arena in Sochi.
35-year-old Shtyrkov won 22 victories and suffered two defeats during his MMA career. Another fight with his participation ended in a draw. The 33-year-old Mineev has 17 wins, one loss and one draw in mixed martial arts.
