With the victory, Nice provisionally assumes the third position of the Frenchman, but may be overtaken by Olympique Marseille, who still play this Sunday. On the other hand, Rennes remains in second place, with just one point more than their rival.
Next weekend, both teams shift their focus. For the French Cup, Rennes will face Lorient-Bretagne, on Saturday. Nice enters the field on Sunday, when they face the Stade Olympique Choletais.
