Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev lost to Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in the group stage match of the Final Tournament of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in Turin, Italy. The results are available on the organization’s website.

The meeting ended with a score of 7:5, 6:2 in favor of the second racket of the world. In the first match, Rublev lost to compatriot Daniil Medvedev – 4:6, 2:6. Thus, the Russian lost his chances of leaving the group.

The tournament will last until November 19. According to the results of the draw, German representative Alexander Zverev was placed in the same group with Rublev, Medvedev and Alcaraz. The other group included Serbian Novak Djokovic, Italian Jannik Sinner, Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas and Danish Holger Rune. The two best tennis players from each group will advance to the semifinals.

Medvedev became the winner of the Grand Slam tournament in 2021. Then he defeated Djokovic at the US Open. He has 20 victories in ATP tournaments. Rublev has 18 victories in ATP tournaments.
