Ngannou said he earned more in the fight with Fury than in his entire MMA career
Former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Francis Ngannou spoke about the difference between fees in the promotion and in boxing. His words are quoted by the Showtime Sports YouTube channel.
“My salary [в смешанных единоборствах] initially it was very low, about 10 thousand dollars plus expenses. But when I started to rise, having had 10 fights, everything changed. And the attitude is completely different – royal,” Ngannou said. He noted that he earned more for his fight with Briton Tyson Fury under boxing rules than in his entire MMA career.
On October 28, Ngannou lost to Fury in a heavyweight bout in Saudi Arabia. The fight lasted all ten rounds, following which the judges gave Fury victory by split decision.
Ngannou has 17 victories and 3 defeats in mixed martial arts during his career. He held the UFC heavyweight championship belt.
