Russian fighter Pavlovich dropped to third place in the UFC heavyweight rankings
Russian mixed style fighter (MMA) Sergei Pavlovich dropped in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight rankings. The list is available on the promotion website.
Pavlovic, who was defeated by Tom Aspinall, lost one position and is now in third place. The Briton, who won the title of interim UFC champion, topped the list. American Jon Jones retains the championship belt in this weight category.
The fight between Pavlovich and Aspinall took place on November 12 as part of the UFC 295 tournament. The Briton knocked out the Russian in the second minute of the first round.
The defeat was the second in Pavlovich’s career. Before that, in the UFC he lost to the Dutchman Alistair Overeem. In total, the Russian fighter has 18 victories; before the fight with Aspinall, he won six fights in a row. The Briton won for the 14th time in professional MMA with three defeats.
