Khabib Nurmagomedov said that his father Abdulmanap was a Spartak fan
Former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Khabib Nurmagomedov named the football club that his father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov loved most. The corresponding post appeared on his Instagram (social network banned in the Russian Federation; belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and is banned).
“Father was a big fan of Spartak,” Nurmagomedov wrote. He also published a photo from the red-white arena after the match with Rostov. The Moscow club presented the fighter with a game T-shirt with the number 29-0 according to the number of his victories in mixed martial arts (MMA).
Nurmagomedov is a former UFC lightweight champion. He defended the title three times. The athlete won 29 victories in 29 professional fights according to MMA rules.
Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov passed away in July 2020. He coached his son throughout his career. In October 2020, Khabib retired from the sport after defeating American Justin Gaethje, announcing that he would no longer fight without his father.
