Expert Gorbunova said that training until muscles fail is not suitable for beginners
Fitness expert Natalya Gorbunova answered the question about training until muscles fail. Her words are quoted by Sport Express.
“Training to failure is definitely not suitable for beginners. They are not yet fully familiar with the technique of performing the exercises; the nervous system is not prepared for such loads,” Gorbunova said. She added that in this case, the muscles become overstrained and injuries occur.
The specialist explained that there was a “complete” and “technical” failure. In the first case, it is not possible to perform the exercise within one approach; in the second, the movement can be performed realistically, but with a violation of technique. “If you can only do one or two reps, it’s not failure. You just took on too much weight for you. If you can perform, for example, 12-15 repetitions, where the last two or three are a real test, this is what we need,” Gorbunova emphasized.
Previously, trainer Ashley Joy spoke about the benefits of doing the “mountain climber.” “This exercise helps strengthen large muscle groups: the hamstrings, quads, lower back, shoulders, and glutes,” Joy noted.
