Nurmagomedov’s manager named the timing of fights after disqualification

Nurmagomedov’s manager said that the fighter will hold his next fight in the summer of 2024

Rizvan Magomedov, manager of the Russian Bellator fighter Usman Nurmagomedov, announced the timing of the athlete’s first fight after disqualification. His words are quoted by TASS.

“Usman will return after Ramadan,” Magomedov said, meaning the summer of next year.

Earlier, the athlete said that the prohibited substance entered his body through medications prescribed by a doctor. A few months before the title fight with American Brent Primus, the Russian underwent a course of treatment, but did not notify the athletic commission about this in advance.

On November 11, it became known that the California State Athletic Commission had disqualified Usman Nurmagomedov for violating anti-doping rules. Executive director of the American promotion Bellator Mike Kogan said that the Russian will not be stripped of the championship title. The fight with Primus was declared invalid.

In total, 25-year-old Nurmagomedov won 17 victories in his professional career without suffering a single defeat. He currently holds the Bellator lightweight championship.
