Zhulin supported the Americans who called Valieva’s case a parody

Alexander Zhulin said that the story of Kamila Valieva has turned into a farce

Honored Coach of Russia Alexander Zhulin supported the words of the Americans who called the case of figure skater Kamila Valieva a parody. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

“The whole story with Kamila Valieva has turned into a farce. This already looks funny. I agree that delaying this case undermines justice, but Tigert’s words are unlikely to influence the Court of Arbitration for Sport,” Zhulin said. He emphasized that he is skeptical about this situation, but wants Kamila to be acquitted.

On November 9, US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) Director General Travis Tygart said the athlete’s case, which has prevented Team USA from receiving a medal at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, has undermined Americans’ trust in the anti-doping system. In his opinion, justice has failed.

Earlier it became known that Valieva will again appear before the arbitrators of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne. Prior to this, hearings in her case took place from September 26 to 29.

At the 2022 Olympics, Valieva won gold in the team competition, but the winners – the teams of Russia, the USA and Japan – were not awarded due to the doping scandal involving her. Traces of the banned drug trimetazidine were found in the skater’s sample from December 2021.
