Coach Tarasova told USADA that there is no justice in Valieva’s doping case
Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova responded to the General Director of the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) Travis Tygart, who called the doping case of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva a parody. Her words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
“What is justice – to pardon Camila or to bury her? As for the medals, no one can get them, not only the Americans, but also us,” Tarasova said. She drew attention to the fact that Valieva has not competed in international tournaments for two years.

Earlier on November 9, Tygart said that the athlete’s case, because of which the US team has still not received a medal at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, has undermined Americans’ trust in the anti-doping system. In his opinion, justice has failed.
Earlier on November 9, it became known that Valieva would again appear before the arbitrators of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne. Prior to this, hearings in her case took place from September 26 to 29.
At the 2022 Olympics, Valieva won gold in the team competition, but the winners – the teams of Russia, the USA and Japan – were not awarded due to the doping scandal involving her. Traces of the banned drug trimetazidine were found in the skater’s sample from December 2021.
