FFKKR and TFR withdrew their claim to CAS against the decision to ban them from tournaments
The Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) and the Russian Skating Union (SKR) have withdrawn their claim from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the decision to ban them from international tournaments. Match TV reports this.
CAS said that appeals against the International Skating Union (ISU) were withdrawn by Semyon Elistratov, Angelina Golikova, Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov. It is noted that the proceedings, which began in April 2022, have been completed.
The President of the Russian Skating Union Nikolai Gulyaev explained the decision in a commentary to TASS. According to him, the Russian side will focus on the development of domestic sports.
On March 1, 2022, the ISU banned Russians and Belarusians from participating in competitions under its auspices. Due to sanctions, skaters were unable to take part in the World and European Championships, as well as in other international tournaments.
