Trusova said that her father paid her prize money from an early age
Alexandra Trusova, vice-champion of the 2022 Olympic Games in figure skating competitions, spoke about the first prize money in her career. Her words are quoted by the YouTube channel “Rental Show”.
“My dad always gave me prize money, as they call it now, for getting three marks. For first place one amount, for second and third – another,” Trusova said, noting that she received money from an early age. She added that she saved up with the money donated by her parents for her first smartphone.
On August 30, it became known that Trusova would miss the 2023/24 season. Among the reasons why she made this decision was the lack of international starts and, as a result, motivation, as well as controversial judging at domestic tournaments, health and employment in the show.
Trusova is a silver medalist at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. At the tournament, she set a historic milestone by landing five quadruple jumps in her free program. The figure skater also won bronze at the World Championships and two bronze medals at the European Championships. She has not competed since November 2022.
