Washington coach Carbery criticized Kuznetsov for a mistake in overtime
Washington Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery criticized Russian forward Evgeny Kuznetsov for a mistake in overtime of the match with the Florida Panthers. His words are quoted by journalist Tariq El-Bashir on the social network X.
The specialist noted that the opponents scored the winning goal in overtime because Kuznetsov lost his position. “You just can’t make egregious mistakes, and here are examples of that. You just can’t lose a guy in your zone,” he added.
Earlier on November 9, Washington lost to Florida at home in a match of the NHL regular season. The meeting ended with the guests winning in overtime with a score of 4:3. The decisive goal was scored by Sam Rinehart, who also scored an assist.
Kuznetsov has been playing for Washington since 2014. In 2018, he and the team won the Stanley Cup. At the end of the 2016/2017 season, he extended his contract with the club for eight years.
