The head of the FLGR, Elena Vyalbe, said that she does not communicate with her father living in Ukraine
President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe spoke on the Rossiya 1 TV channel about her relationship with her father living in Ukraine.
Vyalbe stated that she does not communicate with her father, since his only goal, according to her, was to receive money from her. The head of the FLGR emphasized that her father broke up with her mother before she was born, but they subsequently resumed communication. “At some point I was tired of being a cash cow. I don’t even know if he’s alive now or not,” she concluded.
Vyalbe is a three-time Olympic champion in cross-country skiing. She became the president of the FLGR in 2010.
On October 25, it became known that the council of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) extended sanctions against Russian athletes. For the first time, restrictions on the performance of Russians at international ski tournaments were imposed in March 2022.
