Malkin spoke about his contract with Pittsburgh for four years and $24.4 million

Three-time Stanley Cup winner Evgeni Malkin spoke about his contract with Pittsburgh. Sport Express reports this.

According to the hockey player, he does not think that he sold cheap by signing a four-year agreement with a salary of six million dollars per season (total amount – $24.4 million). “They didn’t give me any more! Do you think I didn’t want to, or what? I asked for eight, but they didn’t give me. Maybe they thought that I had a lot of injuries and was no longer at the same level. Of course, you always want a little more than they give. My agents fought to the end, I can say that with confidence,” Malkin said.

Previously, Malkin entered the top 3 best Russian snipers in the history of the National Hockey League (NHL), scoring the 474th goal of his career in a match with Detroit. Above him on this list are only Sergei Fedorov (483 goals) and Alexander Ovechkin (822 goals).

Malkin has been playing in the NHL since 2006, all this time he has been playing for Pittsburgh. As a member of this team, he won the Stanley Cup three times and was a member of the All-Star Game four times. The 37-year-old hockey player also won individual awards in the NHL six times, including prizes for the best rookie of the season and the best player in the playoffs.
