Karpin: Miranchuk and Zakharyan were not included in the national team due to lack of practice
The head coach of the Russian national football team, Valery Karpin, explained the absence of Arsen Zakharyan and Alexey Miranchuk from the national team for the November training camp. His words are quoted on the website of the Russian Football Union (RFU).
Karpin said that he did not call up the players due to lack of match practice. “The coaching staff is closely monitoring Alexey and Arsen, we hope that by the next training camp both players will perform consistently for their clubs,” the specialist said.
On November 7, the composition of the Russian national team for the November training camp was announced. Among others, it included Monaco midfielder Alexander Golovin and French Le Havre midfielder Daler Kuzyaev.
Zakharyan has been playing for the Spanish Real Sociedad since August 2023. He played eight matches for the team without scoring any goals.
Miranchuk has been representing the Italian Atalanta since the summer of 2020. This season he has played in four matches without scoring a single goal.
