The IOC announced a firm position on the issue of removing the ROC
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) responded to the appeal of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) due to the suspension. TASS reports this.
“We firmly stand by our position adopted in relation to the Russian Olympic Committee,” the organization said.
On November 6, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) registered the ROC’s appeal against the IOC’s decision to suspend membership in the organization. The court said in a statement that the arbitration award will be final and binding, but the parties have the right to appeal.
On October 12, the IOC suspended the ROC until further notice due to the inclusion of representatives of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions into the organization. “The ROC can no longer act as a National Olympic Committee and receive funds from the IOC,” explained IOC Communications Director Mark Adams.
