Journalist Guberniev called himself the main defender of figure skater Zagitova from hate
Sports commentator and TV presenter Dmitry Guberniev appreciated the criticism towards Olympic figure skating champion Alina Zagitova. His words are quoted by Sport24.
“Alina is wonderful! For many men and women it is an irritant. But irritation is a pleasant emotion. And they criticize me, and all living people. No one ever hits a dead dog. They criticize – that means we exist. This is absolutely wonderful,” the journalist said. Guberniev called himself Zagitova’s main defender from hate and praised the skater for continuing to develop and following his example.
Earlier, Zagitova spoke about her reaction to the hate directed at her. She shared that in the past she thought about what other people said about her, but then changed her mind about the situation.
Zagitova suspended her sports career in December 2019. The figure skater is the Olympic champion of the 2018 Games. She also has victories at the World Championships and European Championships. She currently works as a presenter in the show “Ice Age,” aired on Channel One.
