CSKA Moscow captain Igor Akinfeev spoke about life in Russia. His words are quoted by TASS.
“I wouldn’t trade our birch trees for anything, and mushrooms are our everything,” the goalkeeper assessed life in the country with this phrase. He stated that he spent his entire career at CSKA and loves everything connected with his homeland. The footballer added that he never dreamed of playing abroad, but wants to travel around the Golden Ring after finishing his sports career.
On September 12, Akinfeev spoke about plans for the future after retiring from his career. The footballer noted that after retiring from sports, he first of all wants to relax for a few months with his family and go on a trip to the Golden Ring of Russia, Altai, the Far East and Armenia.
37-year-old Akinfeev is a bronze medalist at the 2008 European Championship as part of the Russian national team. Together with CSKA, he won the Russian Championship six times, the national Cup and Super Cup seven times. In addition, as part of the army team, Akinfeev won the UEFA Cup.
