This Monday, a judge rejected a request for the protection of businessman Rafael Verduga, who requested that the Electoral Court of Barcelona SC qualify his candidacy for president of the Canary Islands team.

On November 1, the organization accepted the candidacy of Antonio Alvarez Henriques, after the protection presented by partner Carlos Nahón was accepted.

In that decision, the court waited until this Monday to see what happened to Verdugo, but his claim was not accepted.

“The protective action initiated before the judicial unit of Montecristi against the resolution disqualifying Rafael Verduga’s list has been rejected,” said Carlos Luis Sánchez Gaete, the lawyer who represented the legal action initiated by the aforementioned partner.

“The judge concluded that there was no violation of rights by the Electoral Court of Barcelona SC and lifted the precautionary measure,” he added.

Thus, before the Canarian Electoral Court, he must officially announce what happened to Verduga’s candidacy, and since it is the only qualified list, Antonio Alvarez would be the virtual president of the yellows. (D)
