Figure skater Roman Kostomarov said that training will help him get on skates

Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov assessed his chances of getting on skates after getting prosthetics. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

The athlete said that skating is his main goal. In his opinion, daily training will help him do this in the near future. “My legs are already stronger. Now you look at the ice and think: did I really skate like that? I want to try and do it,” summed up 46-year-old Kostomarov.

On October 16, the former skater spoke about the first days after being discharged from the hospital. Then he stated that he was very worried before meeting the children. The athlete noted that the disease and amputations completely changed his life.

Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. Due to prolonged connection to a blood oxygenation machine and a ventilator, his tissue began to die. Doctors amputated both feet of the skater, then the shins of both legs, the entire hand of his right hand and several fingers of his left.
