Again athletics, with 9 gold medals, and weights, with 2, were the most prominent sports during the competition in Colombia.

The Bolivarian Sports Organization (Odebo) made public his congratulations to the athletes from Ecuador who obtained the gold medals during the Junior Pan American Games, Cali-Valle 2021, from Colombia, “for his triumph and his qualification to the Panamerican Games Santiago 2023″ Highlighted the regional entity.

In its weekly publication, the organization highlights that “Ecuador ended its participation in the first Junior Pan American Games, in the position seven of the general table, among the 41 sports delegations that competed in the contest. The tricolor obtained 53 medals, 15 gold, 14 silver and 24 bronze ”.

Later on he notes: “The Pan American medals ratified the national team as continental power, especially athletics that gave the country 9 of the 15 gold medals ”.

With a presence of 169 athletes, 86 women and 82 men, Ecuador participated in 25 specialties and obtained medals in 18 sports specialties, as follows:

Athletics, 9 of gold, 2 of silver and 2 of bronze; Weightlifting, 2 gold, 1 silver, 2 tan; judo, 1 gold metal, 1 silver; triathlon, 1-0-2; struggle, 1-0-1; modern pentathlon, 1-0-0; speed skating, 0-8-0; swimming, 0-1-1; road cycling, 0-1-0; squash, 0-0-4; karate, 0-0-3; boxing, 0-0-3; taekwondo, 0-0-2; remo, 0-0-1; table tennis, 0-0-1; artistic gymnastics, 0-0-1; tennis field, 0-0-1.

The ladies awarded Ecuador 27 medals (6 gold, 8 silver and 13 bronze); the men, 24 (8 gold, 6 silver and 10 bronze), and the mixed teams, 2.

Odebo highlights that Anderson Marquínez, Gabriela Anahi Suarez, Katriel Aldair Angulo, Steeven Marcelo Salas, Of athletics; Paula Daniela Vega Y César Xavier Criollo, triathlon, were the most prominent multi-medalists of the Ecuadorian delegation.

Sprinters Anahi Suarez (champion in the 100 and 200 meter sprints and bronze in the 4 x 100 m relays) and Anderson Marquínez (gold in the 200 meters) won their direct passage to the absolute Pan American Games Santiago 2023. The same benefit was obtained by the gold medalists Glenda Morejon Y David hurtado on going; Juleisy Angulo, in javelin throw; Dyander pacho, in pole vault; Marcos Herrera, in 110 meters with hurdles; Bella Paredes and Iván Escudero, in weight lifting; Bryan Garboa, in judo; Andres Torres, in modern pentathlon; Y Lucia Yépez, in fight.
