Olympic champion Bestemyanova called Tutberidze’s accusations of lying strange
Olympic champion in ice dancing Natalya Bestemyanova responded to accusations of lying from the honored coach of Russia Eteri Tutberidze. She is quoted by Sport Express.
Bestemyanova called the critical statements addressed to her strange. “Maybe I said something once many years ago, she still remembers it. It seemed to me that we had passed this a long time ago,” she noted and added that the coach greets her when he meets her at competitions.
Bestemyanova said that she would be happy to come to the training sessions of Tutberidze’s group if she was invited. “I really love figure skating and respect what she does and the results she shows,” she noted.
Earlier, Tutberidze called the words of Bestemyanova and Irina Rodnina about her approach to educating athletes a lie. “They say that I somehow train cruelly. Find the strength in yourself, find the time and come to the skating rink. Sit in at least one training session. What are you talking about training without seeing or hearing?” – said the coach.
