Tennis player Zverev calls the fine for causing bodily harm complete nonsense
German tennis player Alexander Zverev appreciated the imposition of a fine on him for causing bodily harm to his ex-girlfriend Brenda Patea. His words are quoted by The Times.
The 26-year-old athlete called the punishment complete nonsense. “I will challenge this decision. Anyone with even a half-normal IQ understands what this is all about,” he said.
On July 19, it became known that Patea, with whom the tennis player has a daughter, demanded that a criminal case be opened against him. “The Berlin prosecutor’s office has filed an application for a summary fine against the tennis star,” the statement said. On November 1, the court imposed a fine on Zverev in the amount of 450 thousand euros.
Zverev is the Olympic champion of the 2020 Games in Tokyo in singles. He is ranked ninth in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings.
