Coach Eteri Tutberidze said that the students were advised to leave her group
Russian figure skating coach Eteri Tutberidze spoke about the transition of her students to other specialists. Her words are quoted by the YouTube channel “Comment.Show”.
Tutberidze said that she was very upset by such decisions of the skaters from her group. “I think there are a lot of kind people around. To her [Юлии Липницкой] they wrote everywhere: change the coach. And Zhenya [Медведевой] they wrote: you need to change the coach, the coach dumped you,” the coach said.
Medvedeva is a two-time world and European champion. At the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, the figure skater won two silver medals – in the team competition and in the individual competition. Her compatriot Alina Zagitova won the singles competition.
Lipnitskaya is the 2014 Olympic champion in team competition. She also won silver at the World Championships and gold at the 2014 European Championships. The athlete ended her career in 2017, explaining her decision to health problems.
