Injury Prevention: the benefits of fitness are greater than the risk of injury
Scientists from the University of Bath (UK) have refuted the myth about the danger of fitness injuries. The study results are published in the journal Injury Prevention.
The authors analyzed data from patients who suffered serious injuries due to physical activity. They concluded that the benefits of training are greater than the risk of injury.
Scientists noted that fitness classes were least likely to lead to injuries. The most dangerous types of training were football, as well as motorsports and equestrian sports.
Previously, scientists from the National Institutes of Health in the USA found a connection between an active lifestyle and prosperity. They found that an active lifestyle helps improve wealth. The decrease in mobility, on the contrary, was accompanied by a decrease in the annual income of participants.
