Iker Vicente has been proclaimed champion of Euskal Herria Aizkolaris Championship 2023 after winning the final that took place at the Navarra Arena this Wednesday, November 1.

Vicente used 41 minutes and 11 seconds to cut the twelve logs in the final: 4 of 54 inches (kanaerdiko), 4 of 60 inches and 4 of 72 inches (oinbiko). The 26-year-old from Navarre was 4 minutes and 47 seconds ahead of Hodei Ezpeleta (45:58) which was second. Third place went to Oier Kañamares; the latter needed a time of 50 minutes and 33 seconds.

In the first trunk (kanaerdiko) everyone arrived quite evenly, but afterwards, Vicente had no rival. In the second ‘oinbiko’ (72 inches) he was ahead of the second with 2 minutes and 37 seconds and at 24 minutes, he had already cut the third ‘oinbiko’. Hodei Ezpeleta has tried to follow him, but little by little the distance has become greater.

Positions 4, 5 and 6

Julen Gabirondo (55:25) took fourth place, Joxean Etxeberria (57:18) was fifth, and Xuban Kañamares (68:57) finished sixth. Xuban Kañamares participated at the last moment due to the injury of Jokin Urretabizkaia, who was unable to compete due to low back pain.
