Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo reacted on Instagram (the social network is prohibited in the Russian Federation; belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia and is banned) for the publication about the award of the eighth Ballon d’Or to Argentinean Lionel Messi.
AStv published a video on its social network page in which journalist Tomas Roncero analyzes the award ceremony. Ronaldo left a comment under this post with four laughing emojis. The footballer’s reaction received more than 56 thousand likes in seven hours.
Messi previously spoke about his rivalry with Ronaldo. “We were fueled by mutual rivalry because we are both great competitors and always wanted to win. It was a very enjoyable period for both of us and for the people who love football,” he said.
On October 30, the Argentine won the Ballon d’Or for the eighth time in his career. He previously won the trophy in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2019 and 2021.
