The WTA said in response to Sabalenka’s criticism that the courts meet the standards
The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) responded to criticism from the world’s first racket, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, due to the condition of the courts at the Final Tournament in Mexico. This was reported by AP with reference to a statement from the organization.
“The team worked diligently under tight deadlines, despite poor weather conditions, to ensure the stadium and court met our exacting standards,” the WTA said. The association added that it has worked hard and is happy to host the tournament in Cancun.
Previously, Sabalenka accused the WTA of disrespect. “I think most of the players will agree with me. This is not the level of organization that you expect from the Final Tournament. Honestly, I don’t think it’s safe to move on this court,” she said.
The WTA final tournament runs from October 29 to November 5.
