Coach Bozovic said that prison had a great influence on football player Kokorin
Former head coach of a number of Russian Premier League (RPL) clubs, Miodrag Bozovic, spoke about the impact of prison on the career of Cypriot Aris striker Alexander Kokorin. His words are quoted by Sport24.
“The situation with the prison had a great impact on Kokorin. Playing in Cyprus is absolutely pointless for his talent. He could have done more, but such is fate – nothing can be done,” said the specialist. According to the coach, Kokorin still has not been able to recover and return to his level, which is why he did not play in Italy.
Kokorin moved to Fiorentina in January 2021 from Spartak Moscow. The striker spent the 2022/2023 season on loan at Cypriot Aris, becoming the winner of the national championship. On September 5, it became known that Aris again took Kokorin on an annual lease from the Italian club.
On October 8, 2018, Kokorin, together with another football player Pavel Mamaev, started two fights in the center of Moscow. The athletes were prosecuted and spent almost a year in prison.
