Former Pittsburgh Penguins player Adam Johnson died after cutting his neck with a skate during a game. This was reported by the club’s press service on the social network X.

Johnson, 29, played for the Nottingham Panthers in the 2023/2024 season. On October 28, during the second period of the British Challenge Cup match against the Sheffield Steelers, the hockey player was accidentally hit in the throat by a skate blade and lost consciousness. The match was stopped and the player was taken to the hospital.
Johnson played for Pittsburgh from 2018 to 2020. Together with the team, he played 13 matches in the NHL, scored one goal and made three assists.
