A quote from Russian champion Makhachev was posted on the wall of the UFC headquarters in the USA
A quote from Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Islam Makhachev was posted on the wall of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) headquarters in the United States. This was reported by Knockouts and Tapouts on Instagram (the social network is banned in the Russian Federation; it belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia and is banned).
“What does a champion title mean? That you are the best in the world. And the title of the best in the world assumes that you don’t care who stands opposite you in the octagon. What should I have said? No? Never. So let’s go,” these words of the champion are now written in one of the premises of the UFC Institute.
UFC head Dana White previously announced his desire to post a quote from the promotion’s lightweight champion. “I want this phrase from Makhachev to be on the wall at the Apex stadium. And at the UFC Institute too! I like this approach so much!” – he explained.
In total, the 31-year-old Russian had 26 fights in his career, in which he won 25 victories, losing only once. On October 21, Makhachev defended his UFC lightweight title for the second time, knocking out Australian Alexander Volkanovski.
