RFU Secretary General Mitrofanov said that the union continues to receive money from UEFA
General Secretary of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Maxim Mitrofanov answered a question about continued funding from the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). He is quoted by TASS.
“We receive money from UEFA under the Hat-Trick program and report annually. There is a small fixed part, there is a part for implementing initiatives, and there is an investment part. We receive all three parts,” the Secretary General said. He added that the RFU receives five million euros each year, while the organization pays a membership fee of 250 Swiss francs per year.
The Hat Trick program was created to provide financial support to UEFA member associations for the development of football at all levels.
In February 2022, the International Football Federation (FIFA) and UEFA excluded Russian national teams and clubs from international tournaments. Teams do not compete in European competitions, and the Russian national team has lost the opportunity to fight for access to the final part of the 2022 World Cup.
