In Norway, a case of violence was opened against the father of Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen
Norway has opened a criminal case of violence against Gjert Ingebrigtsen, the father and coach of 1500-meter Olympic champion Jacob Ingebrigtsen. NRK reports this.
The reason was that Ingebrigtsen and his brothers Philip and Henrik published an article in which they accused their father of using physical violence and threats as part of his upbringing. It is noted that the police are investigating allegations against family members.
Gjert Ingebrigtsen said the accusations were groundless and he had never used violence. The coach’s lawyer emphasized that an objective consideration of the case will help clear the specialist’s honest name.
Jakob Ingebrigtsen is an Olympic champion at the 2020 Tokyo Games. He also has two victories at the World Championships and four at the European Championships.
In March, Amanda Nunez, the ex-girlfriend of Lokomotiv footballer Pedro Gabriel, who is on loan at the Brazilian Sao Paulo, accused him of domestic violence. Police filed a complaint in which Nunez accused Gabriel, 23, of domestic violence, threats and bodily harm.
