Russian Podkolzin was hospitalized after an American Hockey League match
Russian forward of the Vancouver Canucks Vasily Podkolzin was hospitalized after an American Hockey League (AHL) match. The player announced this on Instagram (the social network is prohibited in the Russian Federation; belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia and is banned).
The athlete posted a photo from the hospital room. “Everything is fine, don’t worry,” the player captioned the photo.
On the night of Thursday, October 26, Podkolzin, as part of the Vancouver farm club Abbotsford Canucks, took part in the AHL match with the Colorado Eagles. In the third period, a forceful move was used against the Russian, after which he left the ice on a stretcher.
This season, the 22-year-old forward has scored five goals and made three assists in six AHL games. Vancouver has not yet involved him in meetings in the National Hockey League (NHL).
