Lokomotiv footballer Timur Suleymanov installed a photo of the Palestinian flag on his Instagram profile avatar (the social network is prohibited in the Russian Federation; belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia and is banned).
The Russian athlete did not explain his decision in any way. The last publication on his page is dated July 9 this year.
A native of Dagestan, Suleymanov is a graduate of Lokomotiv. This season he played five matches for the red-greens in the Russian Premier League (RPL), in which he scored one goal.
On October 22, mixed style (MMA) fighter Khamzat Chimaev, after winning the UFC 294 tournament in Abu Dhabi, asked the head of Chechnya, Razmzan Kadyrov, to send him to fight for Palestine. Earlier, the athlete took a photo with the country’s flag.
On October 11, the Russian Judo Federation suspended 2016 Olympic champion Khasan Khalmurzaev. The athlete posted the Palestinian flag on his social networks.
