Quitting Ecuador’s Tamara Salazar from the trials up to 81 kg. of weightlifting at the Pan American Games was due to a back problem that arose during the warm-up.

“Tamara Salazar, from Ecuador, gives up the jerks and kicks, so she is out of the competition,” commented the organizers over the loudspeaker.

EL UNIVERSO was able to find out that in the second phase of the warm-up he felt the old discomfort in his back and could not continue to stand.

She was immediately helped by the paramedics of one of the ambulances, which were on the sports field, to be transferred to the MEDS La Dehesa clinic in the capital of Chile.

Tricolor was one of the first athletes to appear at the opening ceremony of this event, which takes place in the Chimkowe Hall. (D)
