MMA fighter Chimaev asked Kadyrov to send him to fight for Palestine
Mixed style (MMA) fighter Khamzat Chimaev, after winning the UFC 294 tournament in Abu Dhabi, asked the head of Chechnya, Razmzan Kadyrov, to send him to fight for Palestine. RBC reports this.
“With your support, it is not a problem for me to fight in the Octagon, and if you give your permission, I swear that I will be the first to go there. I ask you, give me a weapon and let me go fight for Palestine,” the athlete addressed the politician in Chechen.
Kadyrov in his Telegram channel called Chimaev’s speech touching and worthy of deep respect. The head of Chechnya pointed out that the fighter, being at the epicenter of the sports world, strongly condemned violence against the residents of the Gaza Strip and, as a true Muslim, expressed support for the Palestinian people.
Mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Khamzat Chimaev, representing the United Arab Emirates (UAE), defeated American Kamaru Usman at UFC 294. The fight took place in the middleweight division in Abu Dhabi. It ended in three rounds with Chimaev winning by majority decision.
Before the start of the tournament, the athlete, along with Palestinian-American Belal Muhammad, took a photo with the Palestinian flag.
