Sports Minister Matytsin proposed including Belarusian teams in Russian leagues
Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin proposed including teams from Belarus in Russian professional leagues. TASS reports this.
According to the functionary, we are talking about almost all team sports. “We have accumulated some experience, we will resolve issues with regulatory support, the most important thing is to determine which teams in Belarus are showing interest,” Matytsin noted.
Currently, Dynamo Minsk plays in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). The Minsk basketball club plays in the VTB United League.
Russian and Belarusian athletes were suspended from international competitions on the recommendation of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in late February – early March 2022. In some sports, representatives of countries perform in a neutral status.
