Javier Mascherano retired in November last year after losing the cup between Estudiantes and Argentinos Juniors (0: 1). “I thought about everything for a long time and decided that it was best to end my career now. My decision has nothing to do with the club or the results achieved, but with my feeling that makes my illusion of being a footballer fade away” – said Mascherano at a specially convened press conference.
