Putin called it a good idea to resume sports parades on Red Square

Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the idea of reviving sports parades on Red Square. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

A corresponding proposal was made by the head of the International Boxing Association, Umar Kremlev, during the “Russia – a Sports Power” forum.

Earlier, Putin called the removal of athletes from Russia ethnic discrimination. “We learned that an invitation to the Games is not an unconditional right for the best athletes, but a kind of privilege and it can be earned not by sports results, but by some kind of political gestures,” the president said.

On March 28, the International Olympic Committee recommended that Belarusians and Russians who did not support the special operation in Ukraine be allowed to compete in neutral status. At the same time, athletes from Russia and Belarus associated with the armed forces or security agencies of their countries are recommended to be excluded from participation in competitions.
