Mixed style fighter (MMA) Alexander Shlemenko compared the current champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight Islam Makhachev and former title holder Khabib Nurmagomedov. The athlete spoke out in an interview with Lenta.ru.

“I think Makhachev is more properly trained and technical in the stance than Nurmagomedov. But in the key, Habib Islam is superior. He is stronger mentally. He put more pressure on his opponents from the very beginning of the fights. Islam is more measured. And Khabib also has a stronger jaw,” Shlemenko said.

Currently, Nurmagomedov, who has completed his career, is training Makhachev. The fight between the Russian and Australian Alexander Volkanovski at the UFC 294 tournament will take place on October 21 in Abu Dhabi.
