Moscow Spartak set a new club record for victories in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.
On October 18, the team played away against Sochi. The meeting ended with a score of 3:1 in favor of the guests. This victory was Spartak’s seventh in a row in the KHL. Thus, the club updated its record for undefeated streaks.
Alexey Zhamnov’s team has not lost since October 2. During this time, Spartak beat Torpedo (4:2), CSKA (5:3), Vityaz (5:1), Siberia (5:2), Kunlun Red Star (4:3 ) and twice “Sochi” (3:1 and (5:2).
CSKA is the current holder of the Gagarin Cup. In the 2022/2023 season, the team won the trophy for the third time. The capital club defeated Ak Bars in a series of up to four wins with a score of 4:3. Previously, the army team won the Russian Championship in the 2018/2019 and 2021/2022 seasons.
